WEEM 2026 · International Workshop
International Workshop on Electrochemically-active Materials
The WEEM 2026 workshop brings together leading scientists and young researchers working on electrochemistry of electroactive materials, with applications in energy storage, electrocatalysis, sensing and related fields.
Registration Form Second Circular First Circular
About WEEM
Contributions related to all aspects of electrochemically active materials, from their synthesis, characterization and fundamental aspects of electrochemical processes to potential or actual applications are welcome.
The scope includes (but is not limited to) the topics:
-
All electrochemical aspects of various electroactive materials, in particular:
Synthesis and characterization of conducting/conjugated and redox polymers, organic and inorganic as well as composite/hybrid electroactive systems. Reactions at electrodes modified by electroactive materials or their (nano)composites. Applications of electroactive materials: catalysis and electrocatalysis, electroanalysis, sensors and actuators, membranes, energy storage, batteries and supercapacitors, solar energy conversion, electrochromic and nonlinear-optic materials, nanosciences and molecular electronics etc, in relation to fundamental properties of the used electroactive material. -
Recent developments in various areas of electrochemically-active materials:
Dissolution or/and deposition of electrode materials. Electrochemically based sensors. Electrochemistry of nanomaterials. Electrode-surface modification. Catalysis of electrochemical reactions, etc. Presentations on both fundamental aspects of these materials and their applications are invited.
Participation of young researchers and scientists from interdisciplinary areas is strongly encouraged.
Program of WEEM-2026 will include keynote, oral and poster presentations. About a half of the overall sessions' time will be used for questions and discussions after each oral presentation, with accent towards hot topics and unresolved problems of the area.
Official language is English.
Conference Venue
The conference will be held in Bellamonte (hotelsancelso.com), a resort on the Southern slope of the Italian Alps, inside the picturesque Dolomite region, famous for its beautiful rocky mountains, bright sun, blue sky and fresh mountainous air.
The workshop venue includes Park Hotel Sancelso and Hotel Stella Alpina, both in Bellamonte and close to the conference room.
There is no direct regular public transportation between Venice and Bellamonte. The Local Organizing Committee will organize WEEM buses on May 24, 2026 from Venice Marco Polo Airport and Venezia Mestre station to Bellamonte, and return buses on May 29, 2026 after lunch. Travel time is about three hours each way.
Participants planning to use WEEM buses should communicate arrival/departure details by email to weem2026@unive.it or sig@unive.it.
By train, Bellamonte can be reached via Ora/Auer, Trento, or Bolzano and then by local bus toward Predazzo/Bellamonte (service availability may vary). Public transport information: trentinotrasporti.it.

Abstract Guidelines
Extended Abstracts
Extended abstract of a presentation for the conference proceedings should be submitted in electronic form (*.doc, *.docx,) by each participant via email to the address weem2026@unive.it by April 15. Its length should not extend 3 pages including embedded figures and references. Please use the template file provided at WEEM-2026 web-site.
Larger files can be sent in compressed form (.zip). If a participant has not provided an extended abstract by April 15 the corresponding abstracts sent for preliminary registration in the Application Forms will be included in the conference proceedings.
Electronic conference proceedings will be available as downloadable file at WEEM-2026 web-site before the beginning of the conference.
Larger files can be sent in compressed format (.zip).
Abstract Submission
Extended abstracts must be submitted by email to weem2026@unive.it by April 15, 2026.
If an extended abstract is not provided by the deadline, the abstract previously submitted in the application form will be included in the conference proceedings.
